Can I file I-765 with I-140?

I am filling out the I-140 and was wondering if I could also file the I-765 with it. At this time, I have not filed the I-485 and do not intend to until the I-140 is approved.

Can I file the I-765 with the I-140 without the I-485, or, like the instructions on the I-765 say, do I have to either have a pending I-485 or file it concurrently with the I-765?

I am sorry, I am new and I just filed my I140. What is I-765 ? Are we supposed to file with I 140 ?
