Can I file H1b extension(after 6 years) when I am in India using approved labor cert.

Can H1b extesion after 6 years filed from india or one has to file for extension after 6 yrs using approved labor while staying in USA only??

According to the recent news release from CIS, it is confirmed that one is NOT necessary to be in the US or be in H1 status to get 7th year extension. You need to meet requirement for 7th year rather than where you are now.

In case you have already exhausted 6 years, consult with lawyer.. The wording in memo is not clear on such case.
