Can I file employment-based 485 after asylum 485?

Hi, all,

I need some advice. I am an asylee in US, and I have applied 485 through asylum, but it takes for many years. Am I eligible to file an employment-based 140/485? I have never been out of status. Many thanks.

I think you can apply for I485 employment based even if you are an asylee. Actually I would jump to that opportunity because the process time is way too much shorter. I have a couple of friends who did that and they recieved their GC's already.

Thanks a lot for the information. When your friends apply employment-based 485, did they file using asylee status, or using other visa type like H1? Thank you :)
