Can I expedite my application for US citizenship?

Hi,

I wanted to know if there is a way to expedite your application for US Citizenship. Usually it takes an average of 6-9 months, but is there a way to pay extra fee and expedite the whole process? I heard that for H1 visa for example, you could pay $1000 or so extra and it could be done within 15 days . Is there something similar that can be done for citizenship? I also heard that if you hire a immigration consultant, they could write a letter to expedite this, but does it really help/work?

I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks.
 
I don't think there is anyway of expediting the application for citizenship, as any shortcuts in the process would mean or yield a less-intensive security checks from the USCIS perspective. I never heard of any premium service for the naturalization process. but anyway, if you hear anything , i would be happy to know about it.

Except this factual information from Rahul, the answer to your question is simple NO!!!

Its near impossible to expedite an N400 even with an emergency! I discussed options with my lawyer who told me many experiences of her clients and N400.

However
If your emergency is backed with a very and I mean VERY strong backup from your US Senator or US Congressman (Senator calling the district director personally for instance) then things might work faster.

San Antonio is the best bet. People natuarize in under 4 months. St Albans is not a good bet. I live in Vermont and naturalized via St Albans DO. The fastest cases are processed in 6-8 months.

So in short the answer is :
Just be patient and wait. Even with moving to San Ant, you have to wait 7 months assuming nothing goes wrong!
 
This is the one I can think of...

I saw a post where a contractor for Pentagon sent a letter (along with his citizenship application) of a high official from Pentagon stating that the citizenship for that person was necessary for his security clearance for the contractor.
If you have ties/contacts with any of these kind of organizations and get a letter like this, you might be surprised how quickly USCIS can move sometimes.... ;)
