can I drive a rented car to Canada for landing?

One of my friend told me that he was told by car rental company in Seatle that the rented car will not be allowed in by Canadian side if it is rented and driving by a Canadian PR in US.

Is this true?

I dont think so. When you book a Car, read the exact terms.

Usually I use Yahoo travel to reserve a car. If you read the terms it will tell all about where and by whom a car can be taken or not taken.

So, You mean it is the car rental company who has the policy to prevent Canadian PR from driving the US rented car to Canada, right?
 
Not all car rentals have that kinda policy...I think

the reason people don\'t take rental car after becoming
a PR is to avoid the probing questions by canadian customs.
If you can convince them why you have to go back to US
with the rental car, then you could. To aboid the arguments
at the cost of PR, nobody takes rental cars. Recently my brother
had to go by a BUS.
