Can I change consulate from Chennai to CANADA

I am a US Citizen and I got married to my wife(who is an Indian Citizen) in India.

Currently, my wife is on student visa in CANADA and has been living there for the last 1 year.

I have petitioned to bring my wife to USA on K3 visa / I-129F and designated Chennai, INDIA as the consulate for her K3 Visa stamping.

Today when I called USCIS, I was told that I could change the designated embassy from Chennai,INDIA to CANADA (as my wife's current address is in CANADA and has been living in CANADA for more than 1 year)

We would prefer to get my wife’s K3 stamping completed in CANADA as it would require less travel for her.

I will appreciate if you can pls. clarify whether I can specify a US Consulate in CANADA for my wife’s K3 visa stamping.

You need to update the consulate as Montreal, Canada. All immigrant and K visas for all of Canada are handled out of Montreal.
