Can I cancel my H1 without the lin number?

Hello:

I have a question. My H1-B was filed in July through a consulting company in the regular quota. It was filed with the Vermont center. They are still processing the applications that they received on April 23. I paid half of the amount for H1. I was still looking for a project. But in the mean time I got a fulltime position and the company is willing to sponsor H1 under the 20000 master's student quota. But when I asked the consulting company for LIN number they are saying that they did not receive it yet. So I as wondering if I can cancel my H1 without having the LIN number (may be using SSN).

Any help will be appreciated.

-----let them file it. one can have more than one petition approved
But when I asked the consulting company for LIN number they are saying that they did not receive it yet.
---------- once H1 petition is filed lawyer/employer gets H1 filing reciept in 10-15 days. I think they may not be goiving it to you or may have not got filing reciept , as they filed in July the approval may take time
So I as wondering if I can cancel my H1 without having the LIN number (may be using SSN).
------------ you canot cancel H1 petition it is filed by employer only employer can cancel or revoke it
Any help will be appreciated.
