Hey everyone quick question.
Does anyone know if I can bring my firearm to a USCIS facily for the day when my mother has to go for her citizenship interview?
By the way I'm a Law Enforcement Officer (NYPD).
I was thinking of bringing my firearm that day and Identifying myself to the officers. Maybe they have a safebox were I can store my firearm or maybe they'll let me in with it...
Anyone with any information its greatly appreciated...

I don't know for sure as i have never attempted what you are inquiring about. However, I do know that the USCIS office is in a building which is Federal property, which means that you as NYPD have no authority there and you will be treated exactly the same as a civilian. Therefore i highly doubt it that you will be allowed to enter the building with a firearm. I know that the security forces who operate the metal detectors at the doors are Federal employees and that they are so strict that they even do not allow water or any other liquids to be brought into the building. Perhaps the Federal officers would take your firearm and hold it securely while you are in the building, but I have not seen any lockbox facility of any kind. In all cases which i witnessed where a person entering the building had something the officers did not agree with (mostly a drink or food) the officers instructed the persons to dispose of the item outside before entering.

I think you might be right. I remember about a year ago I was scheduled to take the CBP Exam at Federal Plaza and the notification said not to bring any weapons, including firearms..
I guess this will be the one day I wont carry my firearm with me....
