I am naturalized US Citizen from India and planning to apply for OCI. My Son is US citizen born in US. My Wife it still a Permanent Resident and Indian Citizen. Can I apply OCI for my son now?

Yes. You can. I have applied under similar situation and OCI for my son was granted. To apply for OCI for a minor child atleast one of the parent must hold the US citizenship.

If your son has a PIO card then you can upgrade the PIO card to OCI for a fee of $25.00

Hi MasterUSA

During Part A Online registration there is a individual and Family options. Which one did you choose.

Looks like Spouse information is also mandatory while applying through Family. Should I go through family option and fill in the information. While applying take the relevant part-A printout for myself and my son and apply OR go with individual option and apply for my son and myself?

I already went with option (1) and it generated a reference # for my wife as well. I am wondering if we apply for only two of us with family option, Will this create any confusion?

Should I re-create another one with individual option instead. Will this cause any confusion with the previous registration.

I chose individual option when applying for my son's OCI.

I don't know the answers for your questions regarding filling out family OCI since I have never done that. All my OCI's have been individual OCI application.

If I am not mistaken you should be good to register again with an Individual option and submit only that application. This will not create any confusion with the previous registration. I know atleast one friend of mine who has done that.
