Can I apply for H1 visa from UK?

I am currently working in United Kingdom. I am on dependent visa.

I and my wife planning to move US in August. We both want to go on individual H1 visas.

Can I apply H1 from UK? Because I have this doubt since I belongs to India and currently on a dependent visa in UK.

Or do I need to apply from India?

Please advice.
