can i apply for green card rite after i get married to USC GF.does it rise suspicions..?

or can i apply after 2 years..?

You can apply at any time of your choosing. There is nothing suspicious about it. You need to prove your good faith intent anyway.

Question is Why are you questioning your self when to apply for a green card. Are you getting married to evade us immigration laws. Is your marriage bona fide? Well the answer is if you are married to a US Citizen and engaged in your marriage in good faith, You can file for your green card when ever it suites you and your wife. You do not need to question your self. If your marriage is not in good faith USCIS can some how find out if you slip or if they are suspicious of your marriage. but some people some how manage to slip thru the cracks and thats no way to go

i asked this question cos am planning to apply for GC in oct after my marriage to my GF in aug.in this forums as i was doing research many experiences said
donn apply for GC rite after marriage....

Plzz don make judgements. I entered here legally and am legit till now....

How long ago you entered? Under what visa? search for "30-60-90 rule".

If you have been here legally longer than 3 months, you can file for GC the day after you get married. No problem at all, in fact it is what I would do.

No reason why not to prepare the forms in advance and send them as soon as you get your marriage license. You will need to prove your ties and bona fide marriage anyways, regardless of how long you wait.

Again, what visa do you have? that you planned on waiting 2 years to file? :p

Iam in OPT my F1 visa expired and my OPT expires 2008 jan.

I have been here for 3 years.i wanna do Phd after my OPT expires so i will be a full time student inspite of F1 visa expired,i will have a current I-20.
