I 'm permanent resident since may 2000 ,I got it through marraige and I just found out that my I-751 to remove the condition was approved on Augest 2004 and I got the stamp in my passport and finger print at the local office but I never received the actual card . Can I send my application without me having the card I have no idea when I'll get this holy card.
any help will be appreciated

There is a requirement to send the front & back side copy of your card along with N-400(i.e. citizenship) application. Also they will need to see the card at the time of interview so I am not sure if you can apply without the card. Seems to me that you cant. You may want to talk to lawyer to see if there is a way out !!!

If you have not received the physical card, they should accept a copy of the I-551 stamp on the passport. You may want to send a letter with your app explaining the reason for not sending the copy of the physical card. Also you may want send the I-485 approval copy or port of entry stamp to show the start date of your permanent residency.

Wow houstonian, that's exactly what i did. You seem like you were with me and knew everything i did ! lol
Anyway, the answer for that question is YES, you can apply. Copy the stamp of your passport, and enclose a letter explaining why are you doing that. That's what i did. I filed back in July 2004. i got my physical green card in August. Hopefully, by the time of the interview you would have it. The interview could be between 3 to 16 months a way. So you should be fine. Even if you don't have it then, they can verify your status. The card just to verify that status. Relax and don't waste more time. Apply now with confident. I had my interview in Feb and the interviewer told me i am fine and should expect oath ceremony soon. Haven't gotten yet, buy waiting eagerly.
good luck !

Good news...looks like there are people in the same boat :) so yeah...you can apply since few ppl have already done it

thanks to every one I already requested the application to mail to me
Isn't it better to fill it out online and then print it?
About your green card: Have you gotten a welcome letter saying that you would receive your card in so many weeks/months?

I got my condition removed letter in July 04, Aug 1st 04 I sent in the N-400 app. I sent the copy of the approval letter and all other document. I got the physical card some time in Oct/nov. Had my FP done in Oct, and I just took my expired old card as they wanted to see GC as verification. Had my int for the N-400 on March 1st and got the approval letter (oath ceremonu letter) on March 28th. My oath will be on Apr 22nd. When I got my acceptence letter for the N-400, it stated accepted with exception, I assumed that was because I didnt send copy of the GC. When i went to the interview, the office just made a copy of my new card. So to make long story short, yes you can apply now even though you dont have the new card in hand, most likely you will get it by the time you get your interview.

Good luck.

No I have not got any letter .My case was through my wife , I got my first green card on may 2000 and it was for two years then I had to apply to waive the condition on my card and get another card for ten years and I didn't get any approval notice by mail I just found out that my case was approved when I called the national customer line and spoke to imm. officer who informed me that his record shows the my cas was approved back on augest 2004 ,I took his word and went to my nyc local office and over there I got another stamp sbmit pictures and had finger print and was told that my card will mail to you that was feb 24. untill now i never got any thing by mail or see any thing in LUD (it always says can't find your receipt no.)
