Can i adjust status if I enter on the Visa Waiver

wow! had no idea. So, hypothetically speaking, if you're on a H1, and then decide to get married in 2007, you will need to get a fiance visa instead?
Nope, that's not what it is. You would need the fiance visa only if your fiance lives abroad and wants to come here to marry you. That's an immigrant visa.
Once she's here you get married and file for LPR. In these cases your entitled to marry within a certain amount of time.
Whereas, once your spouse is already in the US on H1B, an adjustment of status would transfer the spouse from non-immigrant to immigrant, so to speak

Well, apparently, people (like me) come here without any intent to immigrate and then, all of a sudden, decide to get merried. In that case, adjustment of status is ok.

Rex, I sent you a pm.

TallaghtLad,
If you want to play it completely safe and following all rules, you should ask your wife to ask for a fiance visa for you, I think it takes a couple of months or a little more, then you can marry your girlfriend as soon as you get here and then you can even apply for a work authorization and AP.
