Can I-485 file through different Employer ?

Hi,
I was discussing with one of my friend and he had applied I-485 with different employer 5-6 year before. I want your expert comments.

Can we change the company if I have approved labor and apply I-485 with different employer ?

Please help.

I-140 clear

Hi,
I got my I-140 approval. but I can't apply I-485 due to retogression.

if I can apply I-485 from diffrent employer, What are documents require from old company.

I am in a similar situation.I was told that if your previous employer has to keep your labor intact without selling/use it to anyone.The point is, you have to have file another Green Card through Perm through your new employer, file your I-140 and then use your previous Labor priority date to file your I-1485.As you know, green card is for future employment.Anyway this is the info i got,please let me know if you find any info.It will be of great help for me.
