Can H1B holder do extra/part time jobwork legally?

I am an H1B holder. Currently I am working on a long term Software Project. I have an offer from another company to work in weekends or after my office on their project in software field.
Can I work & receive company checks legally?

You need to have a H1B filed by the second employer to work legally.

(7) Multiple Petitions. An H-1B beneficiary can work simultaneously for more than one employer, provided each files a separate petition with its own LCA. Such separate petitions are not necessary if an agent serves as the sole petitioner.
