Can H1-B Holder work from outside US?

Hello,

I am on a H1-B visa now, but need to go back to India for some time. I have the following queries:

- Can I continue to be on the US company payroll and work remotely (assuming of course that they are willing to this arrangement)?
- Is there any time-limit that I can be outside the US? I may have to go for as long as a year.
- Assuming that I come back after more than a year, then does my H1-B 6 year validity period get reset?

You can stay out of the US with H1. Think about some people may get a few months' paid vacation, there is no problem with that.
If you stay out of the US for a year, you are qualified for another 6 years.
