I am currently interviewing for some positions in the US but am living in Alberta at present. I was wondering, if after obtaining an offer, can I apply for TN status through mail with USCIS. The reason that I am asking is that I heard that at the border they only grant TN status a week before the start date on the offer letter.
There is no way of knowing before hand if all the documents are okay, the concern I have is that I have to quit my full time job over here and will only know if there are issues with paperwork until I go to the border after packing all my stuff in U-haul.
Just trying to figure out the process here.
