Can experience gained with the current company help to file EB2 PERM?

I’m working with a company in NJ since 2002. I have a bachelors degree in engineering from a university in India and had around 4.5 yrs of experience when I joined this firm. I currently have 8+ yrs of experience. Can I file for labor under EB2 in PERM with my current employer?

Can experience gained with the current employer used to file for EB2 under PERM?
 
Only if the job is "materially different" from the job title you are going to file your petition for. >50% job responsibilities need to be different. For e.g. Software Testing experience for S/W Programmer petition (Lawyers need to document well the fact that the job is "materially different").
