Can EAD and AD be filled after I file for I-485

My LC got approved recently. I am filing I-140 and I-485 concurrently. The lawyer has asked me if I need to file EAD and AP. Since there is additional fee for lawyer if I file through him and at this stage I don't need it too, I wanted to file it on my own at a later date.

1. Is it possible?

2. When can I file for EAD and AP?

3. Do I need any document from my company or lawyer for that?

4. If I file on my own and there is RFE for that, will I be able to handle on my own?

It is better if the Lawyer files first time EAD, AP with I-485 even if you have to pay extra fees
