Can B1 Visa Extension cause trouble during next visit?

Hello everyone,

My mother is currently in US, with me, on a 6 month visa which is going to expire in a month. Now, I want her to extend her stay for a few more months due to some compelling personal reasons. I have a couple of questions here:

1. What is the probability that she gets the extension approval?
2. Will their extended stay create a problem for them during their next visit to US.

And this is our situation:
1. This is her first trip to US, and she got only a 6-month visa (unlike a 10 year multiple entry visa), which means she has to go to the counsellate, the next time.

2. She is a government employee, having 6 more years of service, which makes a case for her being a non-immigrant.

3. I am a US citizen. So I wonder if this may show her up as a possible immgrant.

Please help. I really need to make a decision pretty soon on whether or not to apply for the visa extension. Any information on this is valuable to me.

Thanks

In my opinion, this is a very feeble reason to justify an extension.

1. This is her first trip to US, and she got only a 6-month visa (unlike a 10 year multiple entry visa), which means she has to go to the counsellate, the next time.

Applying for an extension will likely mean that she will not get another visa.

She may have 6 more years of work; but she was likely granted only a 6 month leave.

She should return home before the expiration of her i-94 if she ever plans to visit again.

I hope the "compelling personal reasons" are not babysitting.
