Can anyone help?

Let's see. RFE replied on Oct 8 but up to date no indication that NSC had received it. Lawyer called 10/29 and still haven't match it to case. Lawyer said to wait until Nov 15 to see if they update the AVM. He said this is still usual time for receiving RFE and putting it into the system. He said resending the RFE will confuse them. What should I do? This is a vicious cycle of frustration and hopelessness. Anyone help?

Thanks,
 :(

Hi there,
It happend to me some what like you. My RFE response was sent to INS on Sep 10. But I didn't see AVM updated on Sep 11 or 12. On Sep 13 I called INS and spoke to IIO, IIO said they got my RFE response on Sep 11 and they are attaching the response to my FILE. I checked AVM after a week then it said INS received on Sep.
Call IIO and find out or Hold on for a while.

Call IIO to find out the status

It happened with me also. My RFE was sent on 19th september by FED EX. AVM was not updated till September 25th. Coincidentally I talked to IIO on the same day to see what is going on with my RFE. He said they received the RFE that day only .... (25th Sept).

Ok I called but it is useless...

I called and surprisingly I got through the first time and got to an IIO pretty fast. This is the first time I called.

Here goes:
IIO: What is your LIN?

Gave LIN#

IIO: Did you call a few days ago?
Me: Not me, my law firm but she didn't give me much information. Just want to find out if NSC receives my RFE response. Wondering if it is lost.

IIO: I see that they sent out for a request but I can't tell much because the IIO who spoke with your lawyer a few days ago is not here. I don't know much and I can't tell you but give it a couple of weeks.

Me: OK, just want to know if the RFE is lost.

IIO: Dunno, can't tell, dunno what it is but "guessed" it's backlog. So, be patient and give it more time, maybe 30 days or longer, maybe a couple of months. You know it is this time of the year.

Me: Alright, thanks.

Folks, she is polite but "useless" IMHO. Give it 2 weeks, then 30 days, then what a couple of months? 1 Year and then finally they will say they never receive it and said I abandon the case. Hopeless, useless, pointless to even call. All you get is a run-around or getting put off. Sounds like they are all trained in their training program not to give up information because ooooohhhh it is so highly confidential and secretive!!! Maybe their program also includes "how-to-hosed-out" that little hope each and everyone of us have. Backlog? Any sane person knows it is backlog. Oh well, guess I am better off working on getting my patience like she tells me, onto my New Year's resolution list and then probably check the online status again after the New Years!! Maybe after Labor's Day 2003! <smirk>
Maybe NSC may release their official processing date to July 2001, then I can call the senator. Maybe call CNN or Connie Chuing and if she is nice enuf, she may do a story on us!!

Oh well...I am going to retire checking the online status once a day, it's addictive especially whenever you type in the Lin #, there's always this emotion of a glimmer and a flicker of hope that the RFE might be at least match to the case. Then what, worked harder on my patience and even harder to muster up another hope that it gets approved some day? With that I rest my case... Ah...somehow, I feel much better after venting.

Good luck the rest of you. Have a great Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Until then, I am out....
:(
