My husband and I have already gone through the interview on January 29th of this year. The interview went by smoothly and with no major stress. The agent that interviewed us told us it will be about two weeks before a conditional green card will be sent to our address. The only thing that was missing is my husband had to do NSEER to register his passport, so they gave him a fingerprinting. It has been two months after everything was taken care of and my husband has been informed by the AOS officer that he should receive his green card within three weeks. At the end of the interview the officer took my husband’s I-94. I am just curious if there is any way for him to travel abroad and be able to come back during that process?
Every time we check the USCIS website or call immigration directly, we are told the same thing, “It’s pending”. My husband needs to go home to see his family. Is there any particular reason on why it’s taking so long?

While applying for EAD didn't he apply for travelling document? if he did and has a valid pasport, he can travel with that, otherwise he will have to wait till his GC comes in the mail. I guess the most you can do is keep calling them or possibly an Info pass, sometime they do give you valuable information at Infopass, most times its just the smae thing the IO will tell you on the phone.
Good luck.

Yes he did apply for the Travel document. However at the AOS the officer took his EAD and his I-94 Card. So far my husband has not received the travel document either. !!

Ok, not to cause any alarm, but there is definitelly something going on. If his EAD and !
1-94 was taken away and AP not approved, he NEEDS TO HIRE AN IMMGRATION LAWYER.
This seems like your hausband is being suspected for a federal crime or relation to a federal crime, most times its just a suspicion and they will conduct their own investigation, during this time the case is classified as "pending". When they are done, then they will proceed with your case, but sometimes it turns out very ugly which is why you need a lawyer to handle this case for you.
If I was you, I would not call or talk to any IO again, Let a lawyer do this for you... SERIOUSLY.

No, they did not give him the I-551 Stamp
Please is there anything we can do rather than looking for a lawyer.

Thank you all for your help

Take a infopass appointment. they will guide you better and you can also request for I-551 stamp in the passport when you go for info pass

What I-551 stamp. The OP here is in some serious trouble. Look, his EAD was taken away from him and his I-94 during the interview. They do not take thoese things away from you especially your EAD until you have your GC. don't you see that he is not even elligible to work now because his EAD was taken away from him? talkless of re-entry if he decides to travel out?
Well infoPass is a good thing to do, but what if he gets detained there.....
I STILL SAY GET A LAWYER.
It is expensive but it would be worth the risk.

He already did an inforpass appointment. it was useless. they said that we have to just wait but it does not make any sense since it has been already more than 3 months without any response.

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
