I'm suposed to be in the United States for a 10 months training fulbright program on a J1 visa with a two year home residency requirement. When should I apply for the waiver? Is it during the program, at the begining or am I aloowed to apply any time I want? Can any one give me a good advice?
Thanks

I suppose you can apply whenever you wish, at least two of the people that shared their success stories, got their waivers after they have spend several more years of studying in a PhD program.

To get the waiver you need to prove that your staying outwait Fulbright program goals, my personal opinion, there is nothing you can say to Fulbright that will convince them to give you favorable recommendation a the beginning of your program (provided you are going no-objection way). Good luck and post your experience with Fulbright waiver.

I intend to apply either by fear of persecution or by findind an interested goverment ageny.
By the way I'm a pharmacist and I'm from Iraq do you think that being from Iraq will facilitate my fear of persecution
