Can you please provide details about the problem so someone can shed some light on ? I also got RFE on my wife's EAD application and that was just to give them more details. sometimes they just ask you for better photos or the copies of state ID, Drivers License is not admissible so they might even ask for a color copy of ID.

Do not panic. People on the other side is just doing their job. If the application is legitimate, it will be approved.

Hope it helps your "friend". Also tell him to join this forum, we need more people...

Since she had filed online .. they would need no other documents. The only thing I can see is that Biometrics .. sometimes even after taking the biometrics it does not reach the USCIS.

Wrong Wrong Wrong.

You need to file all the needed documents even if you filed online. How can they approve the case of EAD without any documents ?? If you are not sure of what you saying then please tell other person that it is what you "think" not what you "know". I have filed 3 EADs online and all the time you will have the provide the documents. Online filing is just a way to send the application and as with all applications you will need supporting documents.

Once you file online EAD application, they will generate a PDF document with all the necessary instructions. You need to print that PDF and there will be one copy of the letter that you need to place on top of your supporting documents, like your State ID, your proof of I-485 notice etc.

You will mail all these to the special address provided in the letter and after few days you will see the LUD change in the online prortfolio telling you that they received the documents.

This is the way you answer a post about some question. Please help other people solve their problem. Do not create new ones for them.

hey puerthoughts,

I guess you are wrong .. U can add many more documents if you like ..

I have done EAD 3 times online ... and send nothing. Only thing is we need to do Biometrics ..

If you do AP online then U need to send the the pdf and 2 pictures that is never used.

For online process :
Sending documents will not harm the EAD process but it's not needed. But you need a biometrics for online application. That is a must and in Ur long post - U fail to address this important step.

[A 4th class Bihari would have had done a better job on this] :)

If you get your application approved without documentation does not mean that they will not reject other person's application without documentation. They clearly say on their PDF while you file online is:

Next Steps:
Send supporting documentation to the address below, if required.
• For information on required supporting documentation for this application, see the BCIS Form Instructions links listed at the following Internet address: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/index.htm.

And if you look in the I-765 form instructions:

Employment-Based Adjustment Applicant--(c)(9).File your EAD application with a copy of the receipt noticeor other evidence that your Form I-485, application for permanent residence, is pending.

I guess in your case they did not look for the documents and this shows that how bad the USCIS is with the integrity of theri employees. But this does not mean that you do not need to send any documents.

I understand that from your experience you may think that it is not necessary, but if you read the instaructions, you have to file the documents, else you will be answering an RFE if the officer is wise enough to check for the documents. Sometimes RFE can be time consuming and should not be left on chances.
