I am a freelance translator and interpreter and have my own business. I recently received a request from one of my clients to translate his documents for his asylum application and also his declaration to English. After I translated all his documentations he asked me if I can help him to to fill his I-589 form application. I can help him to do that but I am not really sure if I can legally do that even though on that form they have a question where they ask if anybody helped to fill. I told him that I have never done this before and it would be better for him to hire a lawyer but he said that he cannot afford it and he knows how to prepare his case.
Also, I guess that he will ask me to be his interpreter on his interview. Could you please tell me if I can be the one who translated his documents, helped him to fill his application where I will leave all my info and the interpreter for his interview?
