Can a PhD in Operations Management (Research) qualify for Mathematician?

This is such a great place.

I just received a great job offer and the lawyer of the employer said that I won't have problem with my TN. However, before deciding whether to accept the offer, I'd like to get a sense of difficulty for my wife to get her TN if she finds a job in the U.S doing the similar type of work she's doing now (Quantitative analyst for derivative risk and pricing modeling at an investment bank).

It appears that my wife would fall under Mathematician. However, she has no official degree in mathematics. She has a BS in Computer Information System (MIS), MS in Management Science and Engineering and a PhD in Operations Management (essentially OR). She indeed has significant exposure to math and statistics courses. She also has 3 years' experience in the relevant area already. Does anybody have any idea about her chance of success should she apply? Does CBP require the degree to match Occupation perfectly?

Any comment is highly appreciated.

If cautious, I think she'll be good.

The name Operations Management suggests it's just administration when actually OR is math applied to logistics. To prove its mathematical nature to the officer, your wife should bring the program syllabus.

Thank you guys for the reply. We also talked to the lawyer. He gave some good advice, too. The bottom line is that we need to prepare documents carefully and she has a chance. It seems that I'll accept my offer, heading south in a couple of weeks. Thanks.
