Can a B1 visa holder look for a job in US and get converted to H1b?

Hi everyone

I graduated in the States a year ago with a Master degree in Engineering. I left the country and now I just received my B1 visa to come back to US. Can I look for a job in US with my B1 visa? Will this violate the immigration law? How willing is employer going to sponsor a H1b to me since I'm converting from a B1. Is it any different from F1?

I do appreciate any advice from anyone.

Looking for a job on B-1 status is not an issue. However you cannot start working until appropriate status is acquired.
