calling the Field office to find out the status

Does anyone tried to call the field office where you had the interview ,to find out about your case. In my case, I am waiting for the approval+oath letter after the interview. So I was thinking of calling the field office and find out about it.

any suggestions/ to do or not to do ?

here is my timeline
Applied for citizenship:June 2005
Finger print: December 2005
Interview: February 2006
Stuck with a mistake on my application form. They are currently verifying it.
Its been 118 days since I had my interview.
Oath Letter or apporval: Dont know when I am going to get it
 
We called the Detriot Field office to check the status of my wife's interview approaval/oath ceremony status. They have checked and mentioned that they would try to send 445 to accomodate both of us for June 14th ceremony.

no luck with field office. But I called up the national customer service center and they told me that I will get a reply in 30 days.

if you still have concern about the oath letter, i would suggest you to get an infopass to ask (however, you might not be getting too much info than -- "case is pending.." etc)

yeah i tried calling the cis...no reply whatsoever...phone keeps ringing..however in automated message they say that i need to get infopass and go there....

earlier i spoke to a lady from assylum(uscis),as she was the only lady accessible>>she gave me the ph. # to citizenship >>
anyways she suggested the same thing to get a infopass...

We called the Detriot office with the number listed under Oath Cermony. Initially we thought my wife oath ceremony letter was lost as we both interviewed same day on May 15th.

First they confirmed that only my oath letter was sent and others inlcuding my wife's application is in Queue. Then we requested for oath on the same day as mine for June 14 (for both of us). Surprisingly, they said they will try...

Today my wife got Oath Ceremony letter with same date as mine.
