Calling INS - Any suggestions?

Hi

My ND: 22nd Sep 2002
1st FP done in October 2002, It's more than 15months and so far not received 2nd FP notice.

I heard some applicants sending 'FAX' to INS and getting reply with approvals (I-485) immediately.

Do you think shall i call INS about 2nd FP?

Waste of time/efforts... they don't have a clue whats going on!
