Calling BCIS

Hello Guys,
Time and again I have read on this forum that calling BCIS more that certain number of times (3 if I remember correctly) to inquire about your 485 status, results in some kind of bad remark on your file. Is that really true? Did it actually happen to someone or does anyone know someone that it actually happened to? And how exactly does that bad remark affect your case?

As most people on this forum, I too am sick of this endless wait.... especially even after responding to the RFE. So I am planning on calling them. I know I called before, but don’t remember how many times. May be 3 or even less, but definitely not more than 3 times.

I don't think that is true, they've setup 'National Customer Service Center' for status enquiry. Then why do they put bad remark if you call them?

Technically speaking, I do not think they could easily have set up a mechanism and track the Calling party as well as the number of times called...besides it could be illegal to monitor calls this way.
 
Based on my experience I had called BCIS more than 3 times for status inquiry.The only problem I have seen they are not going to intiate a status inquiry after 3 times and if your processing date
is less than VSC I-485 processing date they will transfer to
2 tier IIO if you request

I called anyway.... the lady read the same message that shows online. And said she can’t initiate a status inquiry until your RD or ND or whatever it is that they are currently processing. She said she can’t do anything other than just tell me the current status, which basically I can check online myself .
Bottom line ... no use calling.
 
I'm not sure if calling could be a bad thing. But I know they do keep record of the calls.

In dec 2002 I was issued an RFE, but I haven't got it so far till today. My attorney and I called the old 802 number a few times. I called only once, and the woman picked up the phone said something like, "You have called us .....". I told her that was my attorney, blah blah.
