Called TSC(Aug 24), so weird!

Just called TSC, a woman asked for receipt# and told me that the name check was not even initiated!!!! She said she does not know why but she will create a SR. I submitted my 485 Apr 2007 and they did not even start my name check, what the F*

There are people like me waiting for approval from 2004 / 2005 with PD 2001's

and you want to get approved today.. ? after you applied in APR 2007

Hope you get approved soon and old filers are left behind.. which is the reality with USCIS..

Just called TSC center ten minutes (14:42 east time) by the number 1-800-375-5283, after I completed 1-2-2-6-1 & 3,4, the recording voice told me no one is available, then the phone was redirected to USCIS national service center. A nice lady talked to me, she asked for EAC #, then she repeated the information which I could see in the status check website. I asked her about my name check, she told me she could not see anything except the standard "pending and transfered" message. I have to call next week.

Well, this is not unusual. Right now they are inundated with new applications while trying to clear out cases that have been pending for more than 2-3 years.

You should be glad that she even opened a service request. Usually the policy is to entertain calls only if the case is outside the processing time. That too you have to wait for 30 days before calling. The current processing date for Employment Based 485 cases is October 27, 2006.

No, don't take me wrong. I did not expect to get approve now but they should started the name check once they received my case,right??

The woman said she will open a SR today and ask me to call back in two weeks. As I know, they should start my name check once they received my case, so it does not matter what the current processing date is.

Normally it is name check / background / frontfround and side grounds check are started once you give Finger Print's

so u need to get Finger print notice first and then the process start..

Alright, let me give you all details. I got my finger prints done on May 3rd 2007, and got LUD on May 4th. My 140 got approved in April 2007 and my PD is Jan 2002.
the woman said they got my finger prints and looks fine, but she said for some reason they did not submit my name check.

FBI name checks are initiated independent of FPs.

I called them to check my pending case. Yeah, they just repeated the same info on the Web. Nothing new info was given.....

See, this is why I am going to wait for the 6 month mark before I call them again. If you haven't been waiting for 6 months they won't even bother, they just give you standard answers and you deal with people who know just as much as you do. So why bother...

I485 has been pending for more than two years. It was current for a few times (June 2005 to Sept 2005, June 2007). Never called before, see someone's case with silmilar PD, or RD got approved recently, just want to ask USCIS what they are doing with my case. My case will be current again in Sept, next month.

Did you do your FP's? They'll initiate the BC & NC during the same period as FPs.

Don't be naive. They are not going to treat you like VIP on 181 day. Things will be the same. That's why sitting and waiting is not the best strategy if you really want to get your GC asap.
