Got connected in less than 30 seconds. Info as follows:

1. No Visa assigned.
2. Case not assigned to officer.
3. Wait until October.

She didn't mentioned October of what year ;)

No. I didn't. I told her that lot of cases are getting approved and was wondering about mine. She just told me the 3 golden rules and vanished......

They can't say that for sure anyway, so don't take this at face value. Even a congressional enquiry might not give this information, since the person in charge of handling those enquiries cannot tell about this unless their computer is updated. But then, think about it: by law, the visa number is supposed to be "allocated" only at approval time. Do you think they will acknowledge to you (some potential stranger on the phone) that they have done something that is not exactly according to the law?

That's the reply I was given by the congressional aide on 8/20. The next day, I got approved. So "not assigned to officer" doesn't appear to hold much significance.

That's the standard reply I've gotten ever since the publication of the July 2nd visa bulletin update.

Maybe she meant wait till October, by then you'll definitely be approved! ;)

Just make sure your case is good to go. That is, no checks are pending.

SO name is not the problem :-

They don't have visa for originally TSC filler.
 
I don't think there is any pattern. I guess we all have to just wait for our turn which can be seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years (what's after that? decades :confused: ).

how did u give your 2nd FP with out any notice. My FP expired in 2005. Info pass IO says they can not take our FP with out any notice. my Case in NSC.
DuncanIdaho suggested to call NSC IO to reschedule it. but nothing worked out in my case. Mine is under additional review now.

I just called TSC. The lady on phone was very patient. But, she gave me similar answers.

I referred the case of "expected" - http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=261980 - and asked if my case is stuck with IO who is no longer with USCIS? :confused: She said my case is not yet assigned to an officer and there is no visa number assigned, so I will have to wait till Oct.

I am still hopeful after recent approvals. It looks like they were assigned visa lately, irrespective of any visa bulletin. Just cross your fingers, say your prayers and hang in there. :cool:
Of course, follow up every way you can, i.e. call, SR, congressman, senators.

PS: There is no use of asking on phone, "Why other cases are being approved". They have standard answer, we cannot compare two cases. I doubt that anybody can solve this mystery :rolleyes:, unless we start any campaign and convince USCIS to answer this.

I got the same response on Aug 20 2007 (Afternoon). Approved mail received next day (Aug 21 20007) morning....so it means nothing!
 
I think now USCIS want from IO to work overtime without extra money So IO just start leaving work or not showing up next day.
These IO don't work more then 1 or 2 hours now they need to work 8-10 hours a day.
So wait for job opening in USCIS :-correct

what a joke.

I took multiple Infopass appointments.

The first time (in June), the IO said he cannot issue me an FP notice. But at that time, I didn't know I had missed an FP appointment.

The second time (July), I had called TSC and found out that I missed an FP in May. So I told this to the Infopass officer. He must have remembered me from my previous visit. He looked up my case. I'm sure he didn't see anything about a missed appointment there, but in any case he said my FPs have expired and let me provide them again the same day. So I'd say it's a mixture of persistence and luck.

I spoke with an IO just now at TSC. Got connected in < 15 minutes. Here is the response which I got:

- NC clear
- FP2 results received and clear
- Can't tell if a VISA# has been allocated
- Case is with an officer under review
- Wait and watch

Frustation is mounting up.
