which supposedly asks whether I am going with an attorney or doing by my self...is this quite common to every one...and is this the same as reconfirmation letter that people are talking about....or this is different letter...

This sounds like the \'Choice of Agent\' form. It will come to you if you self petitioned your 140 without having filed a G-28. Does this apply to you ?

hi Moulin,

my 140 was filed by my attorney, now I heard from her asst that there will be another G28 sent with the P3. Is that needed, for NVC? I hope NVC doesnot seize the opportunity to send out another reconfirmation.
 
I don\'t think so...since my I-140 has been filed by my company attorney...

but I am planning to do the CP by myself since my company attroney doesn\'t do CP....If I do CP by myself, do I have to send G-28 along with the letter that is being sent to NVC...please help me...

I\'m confused. When your company attorney filed your I-140, they must have filed a G28. A G28 is a form that says that you (or your company) are authorizing the attorney to act on their behalf. To answer your question, NO. You wont be sending a G28 if you do CP yourself.

The confusion is about why the NVC sent you the choice of agent form ? The P3 should have by default gone to the lawyer on file (from the 140\'s G28). Did you at any time indicate to the NVC that you want to represent yourself during CP ? If so, that its natural that the NVC needs that letter returned before they can create and send YOU the P3\'s rather that the lawyer.
 
Moulin, no Idea about G-28 filled with I-140 or not...let me talk to my attorney...

I have never mention to NVC that I would do CP by myself...and I don\'t know why I got this...may be my attorney hasn\'t filled G-28 along with I-140...Moulin, do you think I am in trouble...?

No.. no trouble at all. You should get the letter in a week and then indicate who you want the P3 to go to.. If you want to exclude your (incompetent) lawyer alltogether, this is the right time. Just say that you wish to receive the Packet 3 and take it from there.

If you do CP by yourself, you do not need the G-28. In fact, if you do not want to be represented by counsel and they think that you are, you should tell them this, too. Brian.
 
Thanks for all of your suggestions...I thought of hiring attorney for doing CP...

but it is costing me around $2000.00...so I am planning to do it by my self...
