Ciba and others,
I just called IIO to find out about 485 status. she said my FP are in system. FBI has to check them. Do anybody know what that mean.
How does the process of Fp goes according to my Knowledge If Fp are in system, it means FBI already checked it right .

ching132,

Check your FP results with FBI first, and you will have a better
idea of what IIO means.

Hi Ciba. What is wrong with my case??????

My ND is in Aug 2000 and I haven\'t got my FP notice yet. I live in Raleigh NC. Almost everyone with ND in that month got their FP and also got their I-485 approvals. NDs in Sep and Oct also started receiving their FP notices.

Can you please suggest me something what might have gone wrong with my case? What is the best time to call CSC?

I filed I-485 with CSC. PD Apr 1997

Thanks

ching132,

If FBI has confirmed that your finger prints are ok and sent back
to INS, there is nothing to worry. You just have to wait until
you hear something from CSC. Please check out the articles by
Ravi2000 about his theory on FP and case status.

infok,

Your case does seems odd, but keep in mind that finger prints issued
by CSC is similar to the way they process I-485: very disorganized.
I remember a few months ago many unfortunate ND 08/99 filers were
left out in the last batch of finger prints. Those files were
probably misplaces in CSC. At this point, it\'s too early to say
that your files are also misplaced.

What I can suggest is to go to Raleigh office and ask them to issue
you a finger print notice. I know your experience with Raleigh
office is not so good, but you have to take initiatives to make
things happen. Good luck, and please keep us posted.

My lawyer said that VACANT means CSC is jumping around on cases,
i.e. not FIFO !! They have been processing most 09/00\'s cases and a lot of 99\'s cases at the same time. Therefore, they can only use "VACANT" to cover up all the mess!

FP taken, AP received, PD current, What next? ND is 10/30/00, and my WAC# is 0021xxxx.

Normally how long for FBI to clear the prints? Someone said they now use the new system and it takes 3 days? Where I can find the Ravi2000 article about FP?

I am having exactly the same problem.

Filed for 485 back in August 00.
ND of Sept 12th. PD is current.

Wife did her fingerprints in early November. I didn\'t even get my fingerprint notice till end of December and did fingerprints in early January, two months behind my wife. Meanwhile my co-worker who filed on the same day got her approval at the end of December.

Verified from FBI that fingerprints were forwarded to INS, Califorinia Center in early January.

Waited a week and called to speak to IIO. First time was told my case had been assigned to an officer and I should be processed within two weeks. This of course made me ecstatic.

Called a week later and was told that my case wasn\'t with an officer and was not on the shelf, but was in a clearing area in between (whatever that means).

Called a third time 3 days later hoping to clear up the discrepency and was told this time that the only information in the system was that finger prints had been received and they were waiting for the FBI to clear them.

Waited another week and got a very nice IIO who spent a considerable amount of time searching through various screens and basically told me the same answer as my previous conversation. Also told me that the system showed as having received my fingerprints in early December when I didn\'t even do them until the beginning of January.

It seems like there is no rhyme or reason to how cases are processed. No one had any answer for the discrepency in the answers I got either.
