Hi Folks,

My RD is 10/00 and ND 11/00. I called IIO this morning, afterr waiting for 10 mins, spoke to a very polite IIO.

The conversation....

Me: Good Mornin officer, Iwud like to check the status of my i485
IIO: Do u have ur A# or EAC#?
Me: My EAC # is EAC01027xxxxx...
IIO: Please verify Name and DOB
Me: Blah Blah ...
IIO; Did u do your FP??
Me : Yes on xx/xx/xx
IIO : We recd ur FP, The case is under review. Did you get an interview notice
Me: No
IIO : You should get an interview notice .
Me: Has it been assigned to an officer??
IIO: I cant say. Its under review, it shud not take much time
Me; I have seen some Oct RD approvals, cud you give me an approximate time frame
IIO: Let me check, Can u please hold...
Me : sure, no problem...
I was on hold for a Minute.....
IIO: Case is being reviewed, you should hear from us soon, may be 2/3 Months (not a typo)..
Me: Thank you very much

Any of you have got the same kind of info. i\'m a bit confused here. My case has not been transferred to local INS, i\'m not sure why he asked me about an interview. On top of that he said 2/3 months for approval.

Please share your thoughts.

When do INS transfer cases to local INS?
After assining to an officer or before that?
What is the reason they transfer the cases to
local INS?

is your case a simple one. because only in some cases where you have soem issues or documents to be clarified are mostly sent to the interview process.
my friend who did file i-485 with one company but changed over to another company before approval and before the 180 days did get an interview and his case was approved.
do not worry if you get an interview you \'ll be surly approved.good luck

I think my case is a straight forward case, no changes after application of 485. Same job, same place....
