My RD is 10/24/2000 & my ND is 11/21/2000.
Patme:Good Morning Officer.I would appreciate if you can give me the status information of my 485 petition.
IIO : Can I have the EAC number please ??
Patme: EAC 01 039 XXXXX
IIO : It\'s still pending Sir...one moment...
      (after a couple of minutes)
      You should hear something soon.
Patme:Thanks.Can you please tell me if my case has been assigned to
      an officer.
IIO : I am sorry Sir, we cannot give that information.
Patme:OK..Thank You very much.

Why won\'t the officer tell me that?
Similar experiences anybody...please share
I would like to hear your interpretation.

Same thing happend to me. RD 11/8/2000 , ND 12/1/2000
Ditto discussion !! The Rep at VSC does not give much info. I called at 8:30 AM.

Too bad... they cannot tell us much info !!

Hear something soon means they already made decision. A week or two you will receive the notice.
 
I have never been out of status.

No company change.
I see no reason for "Intent to Deny".

I also had the same kind of discussion, few months back. I got the approval with in 10 days. So I don\'t think this means intent to deny. keep your hopes alive.
 
Patme, I received the same exact answer 4 weeks ago....

And she (it was a lady) told me the same exact phrases:
- still pending
- final stage
- I can not tell you (when I asked to know if "final stage" means "assigned to officer")

Patme, I guess some IIOs don\'t want to give out detailed information. Don\'t worry unless you hear something specific from INS either by a letter or if AVM says "a written decision has mailed...blah blah blah..."
