Hi,
Called IIO for the first time. RD--09/10/2001

Talked to an lady IIO. She was polite. She said our case has been assigned to an officer and we will hear from them in next 30 days. However, she also said "keep in touch with your attorney".

We are little curious what exactly the last sentence mean?
Any comments?

Thanks

RFE

Possible for an RFE I Guess......or may be she would have got more calls for approved cases wherein people haven't received their approval (courtesy) copies.

Anyway, Good Luck

May be she hinted at an RFE?

I don't want to scare you, but may be the IIO saw something on the screen that indicated RFE (or worse) and because she wasn't allowed to say it directly she still wanted to help by hinting at you. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. It could also be that she meant your lawyer may want to give the INS a call and try to expedite things for you. Good Luck!

Hi,
If the case is approved then she would have said it is approved. Also the AVM plays the finger print message.

If it was a approval or RFE possibly the message would have changed. Also if it is an RFE then she would have not told " We will hear from them within next 30 days".

Anyone?

thanks

Girish is right - if your case was filed by your lawyer, you should not call the IIOs directly. The lady that you spoke to might have seen that form G-28 was submitted inidicating that the case or applicant is represented by a lawyer.
Any communication or correspondence should be between the lawyer's office and the INS.

There is absolutely nothing to worry ! You have waited so long wait for a month more and don't call IIO again
