On the recent message on INS website for my case. I have the foll message:

"On May 23, 2003, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in DALLAS, TX for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in DALLAS, TX will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case. If you need further information, please call the NCSC at (800) 375-5283 "

What is this interview? Is this common to transfer a case? What will be this interview for? Did anyone got this message earlier from INS?

It would help me understand and prepare for this interview better.

Thanks,

Don't worry

I think this is just an adjustment of status interview before you get your permanent residency. Nothing to worry about on the interview. INS officer only compare/verify paperwork infos. So, hang in there....it'll be ok!!

Dallas5,

Did you hear back from TX service centre on your case transfer status? How long did it take?

Thx

These days nearly 33% of the cases are transferred to the local office, so don't worry.
