California date seems to be going backwards

I could have sworn on the last Tracker for the California Service Center that they are processing I-485 employment as 11/19/01.......now the next update reads 10/19/01...

Does this make any sense?

Is it running in Reverse gear

I don't know.... what is going on there in CA Service center. Does anyone know the reason why is it going backward? And any idea how long it takes to come back? Looking at the last month report, I got the impression that I will be getting the approval with in couple days/weeks. Now it seems like nothing predictable.
 
EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED!!!!

I have the same frustration! My receipt date is Nov 9, 2001 and I was hoping to get my 485 approval soon! Now all hell has broken loose!

* CSC processing times is going backwards.
* I got laid off
* The Unemployment Insurance office sent a request to
INS asking for my immigration status!

I HEAVILY STRESSED OUT!!!!

From your post, it appears you have applied for unemployment benefits, is that correct?

Have you received an RFE? How did you find out about the unemployment insurance office pinging INS?

Can you post some more details on your case?

I volunteered the info to INS unknowingly.

well I unknowingly volunteered the information to INS.. now how did that happen?

* Applied for UI.
- Theres a box that says how you are eligible?
- It says.. do you have EAD? So whats the EAD A#?

* So I filled it up.
* Then UI office sends me a letter saying that I they have
sent a request to INS asking for my immigration status.
- So thats how INS knows


I am much past finger printing stage.
My ND or RD. .whatever.. is Nov 09, 2001. I was hoping to
get my 485 approval before all this shit at INS broke loose
and INS has started slipping behind.

Now two things I feel are possible
* INS will just respond to UI that I am eligible bcos of EAD.
* If they enter the information in my file saying that I applied
for UI then they would probably be sending me an RFE
before they approve my 485.
- So assuming it takes them X days to send the RFE.. I have
X+90 days to find a job and give them the pay stubs and
information about the company I joined.

Damn! I should have thought before applying for some lousy UI benefits.

Thanks for the update though. It makes sense now. But here is my take on the whole thing. Hopefully the lousy INS paperwork system will ride to your rescue. I doubt anyone will make a note or even reply to the employment benefits question. It is just that you are going to be under slightly more pressure than usual due to the uncertainity.

I am sure no one needs tell you that you need to get a job ASAP so you can reply to any RFE's that could possibly get generated. It is rare to hear that a AOS application has been rejected.

Secondly, unemployment benefits are your right. It is not government/state money. So legally you are okay, it is just the premise of the green card that is violated. And *sigh* INS interprets things slightly different from the letter of the law.

Good luck in your case though, keep us posted.
 
Yeah, I just hope some moron in INS does not think I'm out-of-status.. coz I'm sure there are some dummies sitting in there thinking and misreading the law.

"'im gonna find the next terrorist in my set of cases!!!".

That way all the interpretations which that person does will be all skewed.

By the way.. no one has responded to as to why CSC is sliding backwards!! Any clues to this!!????
