Hi guys,

I am a Ca PR in the US working on H1B, my wife is on H4 she has no canadian status and never applied for that. I need to go to Canada soon to apply for PR card. So fo my wife I want to apply for canadian visit visa (TRP).
Is there anyone in the similar situation or recently applied for canadian visit visa for spouse and got it ? Please share your experience or info.
will highly appreciate you response..

thanks

I see slim chances for your wife to get visitor visa as you are PR of Canada and they may think that she will land in Canada and apply for Immigration. I have also seen that many are refused in India based on that. As you are working in US and if provide the info that she is going to stay with you in US she may get visa all depends on Visa officer. You can only know the result once you apply for her Canada visitor Visa. better you go alone and sent your PR card application from Canada.

your wife should go alone

I had similar situation. Your wife should go alone and ask for single entry Temporary Resident VISA (Visit Visa). They will check
- her status in US
- ask her what you do here
- why she wanna go
etc

very friendly . We had a good experience at Canadian COnsulate in LA. My wife got VISA without any hassle in 5min

NB: your wife shouldn't say you are a PR

If your wife lies and is able to get the tourist visa and when she comes in , you apply inland. They will check her file and will be able to find that she lied and did not disclose that you are her husband and are a PR .

would not advise lying here

thank you guys for your replies.

Khi_boy,
wud u mind telling me, as your wife applied on her own and got visa, is she on H4 or was she working/employed and also provide employer's info (letter/pay stub etc) in my case my wife doesnt work (although she has EAD) and how long the visa was valid. I appreciate your help, your experience is definately helpful to me.

bhand11683,
I know wat r u saying, but looking at the visa visit form there is nothing which ask for spouse canadian imm status, it just ask for basic detail (DOB,POB, Citizenship) where no need to lie. the only way they can know about spouse's canadian connection (mine) only if they question about spouse in detail or cross check husband info in their immigrant database and offcourse my wife will not voluntarily inform them that her husband is a Ca PR. Am I right or am missing something here ??

thx

No Idea Dude ! Just listen to all the options and decide for yourself , But remember if a problem comes tomorrow , you will be accountable for it and none of us here on the newsgroup ..

Why don't you call CIC and ask them what can be done and call a couple of immigration lawyers and ask them the options . Then probably if you get no solutions , you could try this ..

Just my 2 canadian cents........
