Hi Everyone,
First of all I would really thank all in this forum in actively helping out with immigration issues.
Secondly, I have a question regarding my brother's green card.
I am a citizen who had sponsered my younger brother in India for US green card in 1993. Recently his visa became current and now he's scheduled for interview in Jan 2006(Consular processing). My problem is that we were looking forward to him getting married before his green card so that his wife can accompany him here. But now the interview date is already here and we still haven't even started looking for a match for him. So what are my options. He's 25 now.
1. If he waits to get his citizenship in 6-7 years, he will be well past 32, just waiting to get married.
2. If he comes here and then gets married back home, then he must do F2A processing for his wife, that will take too long.
3. Is it possible to rescheule the interview 6-7 months ahead?
4. What kind of problems should I expect?

Please I would really appreciate with all the help and advices I can get.
thanks you
Mona

why is getting married such a big deal? continue with the interview.. geez, if you try to postpone it will be a BIG MISTAKE.

Are you thinking that your brothers "wife" will also be included in his petition/interview? If so, that is not possible. He would have to file a separate petition for his spouse and as you know, a GC holder petition will take forever. He should go through with the interview- maybe his future wife is right here waiting for him!!!

It's not a rush per say- it's their culture!

Ok, I guess I should have clearly stated earlier that this is regarding his consular processing in India, he is not adjusting his status here. Again, I just want to know that since if he goes to his interview by himself and gets his perm. resident visa by himself and comes to US, he would have a hard time getting married back home and bringing his wife here immediately(as a green card holder). He would have to do a F2A category application for her, for which he could wait for years.
But if he delays the interview now and gets married meanwhile, I think he can put his wife on the same application and bring her along with him.

So my question is regarding this type of scenario and pros and cons of delaying the interview.

thank you
