Hi,

I have dual citizenship - British and Egyptian.
I was born in the UK. My parents were born in Egypt
Can I apply to the US Visa Lottery?

Thanks

You need to show evidence that your parents were temporary in the UK when you were born.
Then you qualify.

What was your parents' "STATUS IN UK", back when you were born?
It HAS TO BE 'Temporary in nature' (student, visitor, embassy/temp. company worker etc.) for you to claim Egypt.
If they were too (dual) UK citizens or PR s back then , you are out of luck.

Best!

I'm also going by the chargeability of my parent's place of birth. How does one show evidence that their parents were only stationed temporarily in your birth country at the time of your birth? Do they ask to see University transcripts, records of employment etc from that long ago? I'm thinking most people do not have records that could verify that they were only stationed temporarily.

From what I know, the only way you can claim your parents country is if they were only VISITING... being a student or temporary worker is being a resident....

One thingh though... why so many people never even check if they are eligible before applying...?
