Bringing my Spouse's Children

I do have a semingly ignorant question to ask. I am a USC petitioning to bring my wife to the US. She has 2 children less than 18 years of age. I submitted an I-129 after I submitted the I-130 per the instructions. The I-130 was approved brefore the I-129 was approved. In fact, the I-129 still has not been approved.
So, I started the process thru the NVC to get the Immigrant Visa issued. However, when I received the Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee Bill, it did not include the children's names. When I called the NVC, I was told I needed to file a seperate I-130 for each of the kids in addition to mu wife.
Is this true? I made the assumption that the I-130 included the children. Doesn't the I-129 include them without a seperate petition?
Should I abandon the I-130 for now and persue the I-129 route for the K3 and 4 visas?
Help!!

That's correct. You need to file a separate I-130 for each child. There are no derivative benefits for Immediate Relatives.

Thanks for your info!
So what would you suggest? Should I:
1. Stop the I-130 process for my wife and wait for the I-129F process to catch up to me?
2. File an I-130 for each of the children now while I wait on the I-129F approval?
3. Or, since it appears I should be going with the K3/4 Visa route instead of the CR-1 Visa right now, can I wait to apply via the I-130 for the kids.
I hope I'm asking the right questions.
Thanks again!
