I am about to become a US citizen, and I am curious as to how quickly I can sponsor my parents for a green card. Is there a rule that says that I have to have had my citizenship for a certain amount of years prior or no?

That is great news! In general is it quicker to do CP or is it easier to do an adjusment of status while they are here? Also would you advise against dong CP in the middle east , (They are European natioanls currently living there) ?

Why would there be advice against doing CP in the middle east? And why would you think the fact that they're "European natioanls [sic]" living there would make a difference?

I was by no means trying to offend anyone, it is just that they have had a lot of questioning and close to harassment about it (there residence VISA is stamped in their passport) when they have traveled in and out of the US post 9/11, and I know that name chacks and such are so strict these days.
I was just curious as to if anyone else had seen longer processing times from the middle east in comparison to other CP times. My parents have been there for a long time and I got a lot of good friends down there, this IS NOT by any means meant to be offensive and I am sorry if anyone took it that way. :(

No harm done :)

I don't think that going through middle east consulates would be a any different. I know many people who've done it recently... their wait times were very reasonable and had no problems with administrative processing or name check delays.

Good Luck :)

Great! Thanks for the information, I am really greatful :) I think CP is the way we are going to do it :)
Thanks
