Brace youselves for DV-2014.

This is my first post in the Immigration forums.
I really consider this forum as one of the most important source of info. for anyone seeking for immigration.

At the beginning, I want to introduce myself in a short paragraph. My name is Muhammad El-hag, I'll be 16 on 25, of October,2012. I am an Egyptian and my parents are too, I live in Cairo, Egypt. I have two sisters, one of them is married and she's 25 years old, and the other is Engaged and she is 23 years old.

My dream is to immigrate to the United States and live there permanently. I have been searching lately for all the ways that leads to the American permanent residency and citizenship, I found that the Diversity visa program provides an easy, guaranteed way to have a green card, I read a lot of articles about it, but some things are still mysterious for me.

In the beginning, I had some problems because I didn't understand how the Fiscal years worked, I thought that DV-2011's applying period was sometime in 2011, but then I understood its technique, I knew that DV-2013's applying period was between October, 2011 and November, 2011. So I decided to apply in DV-2014. No information is still provided about it, so I want professional help.
I want someone to tell me about the applying period this year, and if there's any documentation needed to apply, the applying rules for my family, and what will happen if I won the lottery this year, tell me about the interviews, fees, and our chances to travel.

Registration for Diversity Visa(lottery program) starts in October every year. DV-2014 is starting in October 2012. You can apply for the lottery online. They don't demand any documents from you at this stage. You have to provide information about yourself, you spouse and children, education and submit your photograph online. The photograph requirement is quite tricky, so be careful with that. Contact a professional photographer. Submitting a photograph with incorrect specifications could disqualify you from the lottery. Also, minimum education for the lottery is high school. Since you are merely 16 years old, I don't think you have high school education. So you cannot apply for DV-2014. But, you can have your father or mother apply for you, and include you as their dependant child.
