I can understand how we as a country have to be careful with who we let into our country since 9/11 but sometimes I wonder if they are going overboard? I am a u.s. citizen and my boyfriend is canadian. He has been here to visit me before so he was allowed to come here but recently they wouldn't allow him entry b/c of his past criminal record. The record is 14 years old and he is trying to make a good life but apparently not good enough for our country...so not only was he denied and humiliated from this but now we have to go through all this paperwork and months of waiting before he is allowed here, that is if his visa waiver is accepted. to make matters worse when i came through back to u.s. i was grilled like a criminal!! We really need to rethink whats happening here...

They have to find a way to expedite cases like your boyfriend's. A 14-year old record should not haunt a person forever. Hang in there.
