I submitted my orginal 140/485/EAD/AP package with RD 2/18/03. My AP was approved fairly quickly, but my wife's was never approved. Between myself and my attorney, we called the 1-800 number 4 times; each time we were told that news would come within 4 weeks, but it never did. So, we eventually gave up on my wife's AP, and considered it lost in the system forever. She has an H4, so it wasn't essential anyhow.
A year later I was applying for my second AP, and we decided to re-apply for my wife. So it was submitted with RD 2/24/04. Anyhow, there was an online status update for that application on 6/7/04, but then no approval came through.
To my astonishment, yesterday the ORIGINAL AP was approved. After 16 months!!
I'm hoping that it means that the 140 and 485 might get some attention, but the real story is how erratic things can be at VSC. Here is an application that couldn't be triggered by 4 requests ... but somehow they managed to find it again when a new application was submitted. Where was it sitting all that time? In the coffee room? The janitor's closet??
(Or maybe something completely different happened???)
