Gurus,

I have my birth certificate that was issued recently frm India. It has both my parents' names with initials (without expanded last names).

Please let me know if this is enough to show during interview (without expanded initials of parents).

This is only a thought.

You will not know for sure, unless someone who carried the birth certificate in that manner, quotes his/her experience.

This could be an issue, though I am not sure.

Is is too much of a problem to get this again, with the expanded
initials ??

Thanks raju595, I will try to ontain the birth certificate with expanded initials, although it usually takes few months.

If you have time, you can certainly try and get a new certificate.

Otherwise, I think this would not be a show stopper, as long as
you have your parents' names IN EXPANDED FORMAT either on the last page of your passport, or your school leaving certificate
( normally the father's name would be mentioned ).

These you can show as secondary evidence.

Apart from this taking an affidavit from your parents, showing their full names, should also be OK . ( by the way, if you take an affidavit, ask them to get it notorized ).
