Could someone help in figure out the process to get the Birth Certificate and Mariage certificate in New Delhi.

My Wife belongs to New Delhi and we got married in New Delhi. I do not belong to New Delthi and my wifes family is here in US, its difficult for me to get the Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate. It would be a great help for us if someone could give us the details where and how to get these certificates.

You can get the marriage certificate by going to the 'TEES HAJARI' court in delhi . You will find lot of agent there just talk to somebody and they will do everything for you . I got my marriage cert. from there last year and we paid 6000 RS to that guy. But he did everything and and in 1 hour we got our certificate .
Take the following documents with you .

Marriage photographs.
Marriage invitation card , if you have.
some photo ID. Also take two witnesses with you as well. you may need them.

For birth certificate , if you dont have then get couple of affidavits from immeidate relatives who were around during the birth and also get non-availability certificate from local MCD. You can search for formats of these in this forum.

Birth Certificate is not valid if the birth was registered recently. So if the birth was not registered at the time of birth, do not waste time to get the birth certificate which is not valid. Get affidavits from parents and relatives who are aware of your birth and also get non-availability certificate.
 
Does anyone have a sample copy of the non-availability certificate? Where and how does one go about getting this from a local municipal office ( is there such a thing as office of Records in Indian municipalities?)
