Birth Date Change

Hello All,
I am having a problem with my birthdate. I am DV-2009 WINNER n sent all my docs to KCC. When i started takin my passport, i find out that my parents registered my birthdate based on a date called Geez (used in Ethiopia n Eritrea in old times). That means, the birth date i used in my KCC docs was wrong (only the year) and i am stuck. Is there any way i can change the year i provided to KCC to be changed to my birthyear that my parents registered/used in every office here? Please help me wit any info. Changin the birthdate in local offices to the one i submitted to KCC would take 14months, as i was told since it requires me to update everythin in all offices.

To make it clear my birthyear is 1980 (which KCC have), but now the offices have it as 1981? Can i just change it to 1981?

I'm sorry to say that but errors like that frequently result in disqualification. The reason is that the date of birth is an important measure in trying to identify multiple entries so they might say that you intentionally put down the wrong date of birth and then entered several entries.
 
What is the DOB you used in the electronic form?
What is your DOB in your birth certificate?
Do they differ? Why?
 
I'm sorry to say that you have to try in DV2010. you can not cahnge the date of birthin your application more. if the date of birth(in you pass ) different to the entry form then this error will disqualifed you in interview.

in the electronic form i submitted online, my birth year is 1981.
in my passport, birthdate certificate etc it is 1981.
in the forms i MAILED back to KCC it is 1980.

I have official court documents with witnesses that my birhtyear is 1981. Can I fix that?

My interview is in Feb-March.

hi,

I think that can be corrected. send a mail to Kcc that u made a mistake in filling your date of birth, and mention the correct date of birth. that may however make u a suspect of some sort. but since you filled the correct date of birth at entry online and you have the documents to back it, you should scale through

THANKS MEN! It had gave me some hope. Now, shall i send email or mail?
 
Since your DOB in electronic form is the same as in your birth certificate, you do not have any problems. You will have to correct your DOB in the DS-230 and DSP-122 forms at the time of the interview.

i gree with raevsky and samok this error can be corrected in 2 ways.

1- you can e-mail or call KCC and tell them that you have done an error DS-230 and DSP-122 forms and they will correct it.

2- in interview you can say to officer that you have done an error DS-230 and DSP-122 forms and he/she will cahnge it.
 
hey guys!
i just emailed KCC twice. I heard that they use an auto-reply system? I didnt get any auto-reply nor an email from them? how long does it take them to get back at me? Do u thk i should call them?

do not worry.

1-i have emailed them too . they have not auto-reply, they reply to my e-mail in 6 hours.

2-wait 1-3 days and then if you have not reply from them. then call them.
